The New Porsche 911 GT3 Will Be A Terrifying Track Weapon

The recently-unveiled 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 has certainly proven to be a controversial car. Its lack of a manual transmission and inclusion of electric steering have made some people question whether it's the real deal or some kind of poser car. But if this video from Porsche is any indicator, we have nothing to be afraid of -- except the GT3 itself.

Normally I'm not too keen on posting overly commercial-feeling videos that come direct from the carmakers themselves, but this one is probably too good to pass up. And it shows that the new GT3 will be less of a car than a purpose-built track weapon, a terrifying machine designed only to achieve faster and faster lap times. It's even got an ominous voiceover and soundtrack to drive the point home.

Why is it so impressive? How about 475 horsepower from a new flat six that peaks at 9,000 RPM, or the fact that it will do zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, or its 195 mph top speed? Oh, and it gets better mileage than the old one, if you care about that sort of thing.

Maybe it will do just fine after all.
