Is 'United SportsCar Racing' The Name Of The Combined Grand-Am/ALMS Series?

Last year, it was announced that both sports car racing organizations in the USA would combine to form one series in 2014. But since that time, Grand-Am and the ALMS have not issued a new name. They are announcing it tomorrow, but it may have been leaked early. Could it be called "United Sportscar Racing?"

A trademark filing was found by NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass for the name United Sportscar Racing. The trademark was filed by a company that calls itself Premium Sports Car Racing LLC.

A search of that company shows that it is now located at Legal One Daytona Boulevard in Daytona Beach, Florida. That is the address of the Grand-Am Series.

Previously, Premium Sports Car Racing LLC was located at 1394 Broadway in Braselton, Georgia. Also located there? IMSA (sanctioning body of the ALMS), the ALMS, and Panoz (former owner of the ALMS).

A logo as well as the name were filed for a trademark on February 27. We'll find out tomorrow if it's true.
